IND vs WI 1st ODI: Young Dhawan-led Team India battling Pooran's West Indies

The three-match One Day International series between Team India and West Indies, led by Shikhar Dhawan, kicks off on Friday, July 22.

The Men in Marroon traveled to India in February this year for three one-day internationals and as many T20s. Now, the two teams will meet for three ODIs and five T20s.

ODIs already matter less in a T20 World Cup year, but players lucky enough to play in place of older players will want to contribute.

Dhawan, who only competes in ODIs, will skip India for the second time in his career after Rohit Sharma rested for the series.

Virat Kohli, Rishabh Pant, Hardik Pandya, Jasprit Bumrah and Mohammad Shami were also resting.

The selection of the middle order will be difficult for the team management. Deepak Hooda, who is currently in good form, is expected to bat at number three, while Suryakumar Yadav is also a lock for the starting XI, leaving management to choose between Shreyas Iyer and Sanju Samson.
